If you have no fishing equipment, the Tackle Cache can help with sales or rentals. We can also freeze and store your fish. If you have questions about fishing regulations, get a free copy of the regulations at the Tackle Cache or visit Sport Fishing Regulations. Enter a fishing Derby

King salmon caught in Montana Creek are eligible for the Mat-Su King Salmon Derby. Pre-register at the Tackle Cache, or visit them to get more information. There are weekly and daily prizes. If you don’t register, you can't win!

Kids can enter the annual Kids Humpy Derby, sponsored by Big Lake Aurora Lions Club. Great prizes are offered every year. In the past, prizes included bicycles, fishing poles, taxidermy mounting of biggest humpy caught, tents, toys and games. It takes place the second weekend of August. The money raised from entry fees ($15 for the weekend) goes to support CampAbilities, a charitable group that provides outdoor experiences for handicapped children (part of Alpine Alternatives).
